Before we get overwhelmed or numb from all the news from Ukraine, let’s remember that there is a real need to help those who are most affected: the Ukrainian women and children who have left their homes hoping to find safe havens elsewhere. When they arrive in places like Poland, they have to navigate a whole labyrinth of hurdles and dangers from scammers and worse. Sometimes they even lack the train fare to take them to other host countries where they would be welcomed. A little bit goes a long way in those cases.
We wanted to share a few organizations that are doing a great job with the donations they receive. If you’d like to check them out, links are below.
USA for UNHCR – USA for UNHCR protects refugees and empowers them with hope and opportunity.
Doctors Without Borders – DWB is expanding their medical and humanitarian response in Ukraine and neighboring countries to meet the evolving needs.
United Help Ukraine – United Help Ukraine, Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization receiving and distributing donations, food and medical supplies to Ukrainian IDPs (internally displaced people), people of Ukraine affected by Russia’s invasion into Ukraine, families of wounded or killed for freedom and independence of Ukraine. Our activities focus on fund-raising events, raising awareness of the crisis in Ukraine by engaging individuals, organizations, private and government institutions, and media in the United States of America.
