A new presence on the Boulder scene, Experimental Housewife cut her teeth performing in Missoula, Montana and Berlin, Germany. An odd combo, to be sure; but it’s one that explains her desire to promote diversity and the relinquishment of categories in her performances. One is as likely to hear her play a vintage Madonna cut into a noisy swath of Yellow Swans.
Then, Philadelphia legend Charles Cohen will introduce us to his vintage Buchla Music Easel synth. A a musician and composer whose work straddles the line between electronic experimentation and the unfettered philosophy of free jazz, Cohen has been creating music since 1971.
His work is entirely improvisational in nature, thus few recorded or commercially available works are available to his credit. Cohen prefers to concentrate on creating electronic music as live performance. Not to be missed, this event is a true honor for us to host and share with you.
