The Temple Grandin School is excited to present our Fourth Annual Meeting of the Minds in Boulder. Continuing with our exploration of neurodiversity, this year’s panelists will delve into “Neurodiversity in Action.” Along with Dr. Temple Grandin, thought leaders Danny Combs, Tiffany Fixter and Bryn Fosburgh will share how their Front Range organizations are making a real difference in the lives of their neurodiverse employees – and how those employees are impacting local communities through their service. Join us for an insightful evening as we cultivate and celebrate the contributions of all kinds of minds.
Doors open at 5:30pm – Join us before the panel for a silent auction, beer, wine and appetizers from Frasca Food & Wine. The silent auction will remain open after the program for final bidding. You must be present to win. VIP tickets include refreshments, a private reception with all four guest speakers and reserved seating in the hall.
The world knows Temple Grandin as the face of autism. Her accomplishments as a speaker, author and advocate earned her a place among TIME magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World” in 2010. Her life story was detailed in the acclaimed HBO biopic, Temple Grandin. Dr. Grandin continues to speak and write about autism, most recently in her book Calling All Minds: How to Think and Create Like an Inventor. Dr. Grandin has been professor of animal science at Colorado State for over 20 years and has made enormous contributions to the livestock industry. Her insights into animal behavior shaped innovative approaches to livestock handling that have become the industry standard.

Brewability Lab and Pizzability
Tiffany Fixter is an educator-turned-entrepreneur who is passionate about creating life-changing careers for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Tiffany has spent her life balancing business with helping others in the community as a volunteer, working with Special Olympics and other philanthropy as part of her sorority Alpha Sigma Alpha, and doing at home therapy with children with autism (under a BCBA therapist). Tiffany has a BS in Special Education and Elementary Education from Northwest Missouri State University and a Master’s in Education from the University of Kansas in Special Education, with an emphasis on Autism Spectrum Disorders. She was a teacher for 11 years in the inner-city Kansas City Missouri Schools. After moving to Denver, her work as a day program director made her realize the employment crisis that many adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) face. She launched Brewability Lab in 2016, employing adults with I/DD to brew and serve beer. She followed this with Pizzability in 2018, a turn-key pizzeria also employing adults with I/DD. With the assistance of Rocky Mountain Human Services Mill Levy funding, Pizzability creates a workspace with research-based support that includes many features that make it inviting to people of all abilities. Both businesses are in Denver, Colorado.
